The Best Desserts Require No Baking

ep7-webheader.jpgNo-bake cookies may not be aesthetically pleasing, but they’re so delicious it’s worth embracing your inner chubscout and forgetting their appearance. You can make them on the stove, get your chocolate fix, and keep the mess to a minimum. A-mazing.

Please note that there is peanut butter in this recipe, so for those with allergies, I apologize for being a tease.

You’ll need:

1—medium saucepan
2—sheets tinfoil (for your cookies to dry on)
½ cup (or one stick)butter
½ teaspoon vanilla
½ cup milk
½ cup (either chunky or creamy) peanut butter
3 cups oatmeal (any type)
6 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 cups sugar
dash salt

In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, melt butter, sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and salt together until it comes to a rolling boil. Let boil for 3 minutes, then remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter, oatmeal, and add vanilla. The mixture should be at a happy medium between liquidy and dry; you should be able to drop a large spoonful onto tinfoil and let it solidify into a cookie. Make cookies as large/small as you like, and let cool until they harden into little bites of deliciousness.

I recommend serving with a large glass of milk and indulging in gluttony. They’re perfect when you just need something chocolate.

I have made these before. When my friends see them they tell me to clean up the cat crap… and then they try them and ask for the recipe.

My Bible teacher in high school dubbed these “turd cookies” and around my friends the name stuck. I like to up the peanut butter to 2/3 cup-it makes them so creamy and peanut buttery.
