Foolproof Sunless Tanning Lotion

032208-jergens-natural-glow-express.JPGAs soon as summer announces itself with its warm winds and bright, shiny mornings, I want to lay out and bake in the sun. Nothing feels quite like floating in a pool - book in one hand, ice cold beverage in the other - absorbing those delicious rays. And nothing looks quite as good with almost every article of summer clothing than some nice, tan legs.

I am fully aware that skin cancer is scary business and not worth the fake-baking/laying out for hours on end. I also have a pretty healthy fear of getting wrinkley in the future, so, to protect myself, I wear my sunscreen. But I recently realized that maybe sunscreen wasn’t enough, and getting my glow a different way may be a better option.

I started investigating.

My former roommate loved sprays, but I personally don’t trust myself with them. I am mildly OCD and need a lotion to ensure I’m not missing anything. I went on a quest to find the perfect lotion and came across a new product: Jergens Natural Glow Express. It looked just like the rest, except that it claimedto show results in 3 days. Conveniently, I was heading on vacation in 3 days, so I grabbed it.

Please bear in mind that I consider myself an idiot with any sort of gradual tanning product, so if I can find success with this stuff, anyone can. It is virtuly idiot-proof!

The bottle is 4 ounces, and at my local retailer it only cost me $5.99. Depending on where you go, it may be as much as $7.99, but it’s a lot cheaper than spending $30-$40 for a spray-tan at a salon. I did as suggested: exfoliated, shaved, rubbed in the lotion in a circular motion.

After day 1, I must say, I was a little bronzer than before, without a hint of orange. I clearly wasn’t careful enough around my ankles (as made evident by the minor streak-age), but my goal for day two was to amend my mistakes by exfoliating a little extra in those areas. Voila! After being a little more particular on day 2, there were no more streaks.

By day 3 I definitely looked darker and not orange, which I proved by asking about 7 different people, 100 different times. (They were slightly annoyed, but what can I say? I was proud of my sunless glow.) I didn’t use this product on my face, as I use my own bronzing powder and what-not, but Jergens has an express version of the face tan as well.

This stuff is awesome; hit your local drugstore to try it yourself.

I saw this on the Daily 10 or something on E! and it gave really nice results on whoever was testing it. I’ve been meaning to pick it up

I LOVE this stuff! It smells good, it works great-never orange like you said, and it works fast! Im already on my third bottle of this stuff. They really need to make bigger bottles so I can save some coin…

The trick is to apply daily for the first 3, beyond that I may go to the normal Jergens Natural Glow. I had an exfoliating incident after I stopped using it that left me with a considerably whiter circle on my back–two days before I wore a strapless dress in a wedding. It was fixable, just be careful to scrub evenly!

I fell in love with regular natural glow when it first came out and use it every. single. day. I go through a bottle about every two weeks, so I’m with Callie on the bigger bottle idea. CVS and Walmart have their own (cheaper) version of it too, and it works just as well!

ok, so after reading this article I found this at my local farmer’s market (I don’t know why, there are tons of random stuff there!) so my sister and I each got a bottle for a total of 4 bucks. She, being the chameleon she is, turned pretty dark on the first try. My legs never change color so on the first day nothing happened. I just applied it for the 3rd time and so far I have a nice natural looking tan on my legs, and there are no streaks! I may have to graduate to the medium/tan lotion at some point but I definitely like what I see!

This works very well, as long as you don’t over apply it. I found it gets blotchy if I use it more than twice a week. I think it smells nice at first, but after a while it leaves behind the same strange smell most self tanners tend to leave behind. My boyfriend always says I smell good when I use the regular Jergens tanner, but I used this one tonight and he thinks it smells like soup. After a couple hours, it kind of does.

** I tried this a few months ago and ended up with a bad orange tinge.

My favorite bronzer is Beaches & Creme BY FAR! It’s a double bronzer with great application and no unwanted effects!

I think it retails for almost $20.00, But I buy it at SouthEasternTanningLotions.com for less than 9 BUCKS for a 10 oz bottle. Use the COUPON CODE: SETL0004 I found on another site. It’s an extra 5% off!

    YOU’RE WELCOME lol

Get this stuff if you want to look like you used a fake tan and love the color orange. Why don’t you review a good product. Everyone out there knows if you want to use a sunless tanner that looks real you use Jan Tana. All the celebrities and athletes swear by it. Jan Tana looks real and smells good.
Nothing in the sunless tanning market comes close.
