A Bed In Our Temple (NOT a Lorca Poem)

creepy family schoolbusThe crazyass cult the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (that we first wrote about HERE), a polygamist group that split off from the Mormons, apparently had a bed in their freaking temple.

This bed was used to eff girls under 17 immediately after their marriage to middle-aged men.

The temple in question was on the Eldorado (note: they pronounce it “el-dor-AY-do,” which I find hysterical in that very sad, scary kind of way) Compound in Eldorado, Texas. It was recently raided by the authorities.

And by authorities, I mean the actual legal authorities and not the nutbags who had created this masogynistic society within.

The way they found out about it is that a 16-year-old girl from the compound made a report that she’d been raped by her husband, who was like 50. I’m sure the hundreds of girls (under 17) who were taken into custody by the state are grateful. Or maybe they’re not. I don’t know. I’d be very interested in reading some interviews with them, but perhaps they’re too traumatized to speak with the press.

I digress.

What I’m really worried about is the fact that the girl who made the report (and consequently saved more than 400 other young girls), is now missing. As is her ancient hubby, who, by the way, happens to be a registered sex offender. Just coincidentally.

It seems likely to me that he’s kidnapped her, or, perhaps, killed her. I don’t know. The scenerios keep running through my head. I hope the search for this girl is very, very active.

Children growing up in those “families” are taught to not trust outsiders, therefore I doubt they’ll be giving any interviews unless a few them realize they’ve been brainwashed their entire lives.

If you want to get an inside look at these peoples way of life, theres a new book out called “Escape” by Carolyn Jessop. She escaped from this community with ALL of her children (something no woman has ever done in their communities before) and lived to tell the tale. It’s a really good book to read if you want to understand these people and why they do what they do. :)
