My college uses plates instead of trays, and there are signs around the dining halls explaining that it requires too much energy to heat water to wash trays. Sometimes its a pain trying to fit everything on one plate, but I think it has helped me eat less, and since the dining hall is a buffet I can always go and get more food if I can’t fit everything on my plate.
