I mean, I’ve heard of being afraid of intimacy before, but this guy takes it to a whole new level. This guy built a robot girlfriend.That’s right, a robot girlfriend. Dude was a 33-year-old virgin until he met (read: MADE) Alice, his robot girlfriend who includes a chatbox to talk through and a teledildonic device, which, I assure you, is exactly what it sounds like.
I’m sorry, but this is straight out of a Philip K. Dick novel. I find it really frightening that there are actual people who are so emotionally and sexually disfunctional that they need to build robots to have relationships with.
Yeah, it’s the relationship part that freaks me out. You wanna have sex with a hunk of metal, by all means, be my guest. It’s the idea of forming a loving relationship with an inanimate object that you have made to look and seem like a human woman that freaks me the frick out.
I just hope this guy doesn’t go on a killing rampage or something. I mean, to me, this goes beyond innocent virgin needs an outlet, builds a robot, gets busy. To me, this suggests more of a mental problem, an inability to interact and to love other people. And that is really scary.
Am I overreacting? Or is this totally freaky?

I’m sorry to say that…..this really appeals to me. I absolutely love robots (yes, I am a weirdo!). Obviously the true implications of something like this is much more serious than the fantasy, but on the other hand, I do love robots, and I wouldn’t say no to a male version

I agree that it points to some deep intimacy issues, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say he might go on a “killing rampage or something.” Not all people with psychological problems are apt to become violent, and I really don’t think this is a case for that.
So, yeah, it’s kind of freaky to form a relationship with an inanimate object like this, but hey, to each his own.

Agreed! This is super freaky. I mean what is the world coming to… We already have lost the ability to have an interpersonal conversation because we consistently e-mail, text, and instant message our significant other. So I guess this is the nest step of phasing humans out of our lives and just keeping it simple… Having relationships only with ourselves. Tis Sad!!!

It’s not because they’d rather love a piece of metal than a real women. It’s more because the perfect woman is so hard to find.

Yes, Sara, you are overreacting and are also being demeaning. Who are you to imply that he is emotionally and sexually dysfunctional? We should all be supportive and at the very least accepting of peoples kinks. To make fun of him and ostracize him as some kind of sexual scum is wrong and also hurtful to any sex positive culture. Sure it’s weird and wild but so what? Let him have his fun and hopefully no one will tease you about yours.
