Oh, the writers strike. It’s been cock blocking so many fun events for us spectators as of late, but not the SAG awards! The ceremony actually went and got a waiver from the Writers Guild of America and the show, for once, went on Sunday. Stars grazed the red carpet with expected ease and as with all major events like this one, the night was just as much as about fashion as it was anything else. And as with every fashion event, celebrities seem to always be hitting it or missing it.
So here’s who HIT it Sunday night:

Marion Cotillard looked absolutely stunning in a dress by Nina Ricci. She looked so elegant and princess like…I could hardly stand the sight. Her dress makes me wanna try Prom all over again.

Vanessa Williams managed to pull off a very difficult Escada dress with ease. The breast line cut and bright yellow would definitely make ME look like a ghost straight out of a runway nightmare, but Vanessa somehow looked gorgeous in it. Go figure, I’m no Vanessa Williams.
However, many more celebrities MISSED it, if you ask me. I thought these people paid stylists, no? And even without a stylist, certainly their toy sized dogs were yapping at the atrocities they left the house with on Sunday.
Sandra Oh, Oh my. What was she thinking?! She wrapped herself up in what might as well be a bad 80’s gift bag and somehow still managed to smile.
I’m not sure what Debra Messing was thinking with her outfit, either. Not only was it unflattering in every single way she didn’t need, but it looks like a joke. Someone must have opened up their “When I used to be a show girl in Vegas” closet doors for Debra and thrown the most awful gown on her. And she kept it on the whole night. Ouch.
And finally, Rebecca Romijn. My, oh my. This hooker get up wouldn’t even suit a hooker. It looks like a ball of aluminum foil. Dear god, I’m happy she didn’t show up with the tin man.
So even though the writers decided not to picket this event, apparently, the fashion community should have. Better luck next time, Hollywood.

Looks like the H-wood stylists are on strike too. Even a very straight, non-metro friend of mine noticed how bad the clothes were.
i want to meet the women
