Recappin\' The Hills...

So, I was gone for a few weeks and
missed out on a lot of Hills recapping.
I was so excited to get back into it…
until I actually watched tonight’s totally
sucky episode. Like most episodes of
The Hills, nothing really happened. In
fact, the entire show can be broken
down into two sentences:
Lauren and Audrina make up.
Spencer acts like a douche in
front of his Nana. Read More...

HIM!? DeAnna Gets Engaged On The Season Finale Of The Bachelorette

14.jpg

DeAnna said it best, “I cannot believe that I’m going to marry the guy with the pink shoelaces.”

I can’t either.

On tonight’s season finale of The Bachelorette, once jilted contestant DeAnna Pappas chose underdog pro-snowboarder Jesse over easy-going single-dad Jason. It was shocking to say the least, especially considering this episode.

The fellas went home to Georgia to meet DeAnna’s family. Jason wowed the Pappas’ with his intellect, charm and sincerity. Papa Pappas seemed to swoon himself. Meanwhile, even with a new haircut, everyone was a little perplexed over just how Jesse got this far in the competition. Read More »

Two To Go: Who Will Win The Bachelorette’s Heart?

15.jpg

DeAnna took the remaining three fellas on a date to the Bahamas. If the boys couldn’t cut loose, enjoy themselves, and win her over in a tropical locale, then there was no hope for ‘em.Jeremy went first. Poor Jer. Stiff, unfunny, a hopeless romantic who’s almost too right for DeAnna. Their date was lackluster. The only thing I wrote down in my notes while I watched was: Grand Bahama Island (the name of the resort) and “Burgers for dinner?” If my mind wandered, DeAnna’s must have too.

My main man Jason turned everything around. He made DeAnna laugh, and insisted on not boring her with talk about his kid. They smiled, and unlike the other two dates, both of them seem like better, more fulfilled people when they’re together.

And then there’s the wild card: Jesse. Who knew he would last this long? The two of them rode horses on the beach. Then he finally put the humorous side away and asked DeAnna some tough questions about how their lives would merge should they get married. Kids, commuting to Colorado, the works. Read More »

Super Hot Guy Leaves The Bachelorette: Good Riddance

22.jpg

Last night’s episode of The Bachelorette took us on a whirlwind trip across the country so DeAnna could see the boys on their hometurf. For the most part, everyone stayed true to form.

Jesse met DeAnna in Breckenridge CO and took her snowboarding. He is moving his relationship with DeAnna along at a snail’s pace kissing her only once so far. In the preview for next week’s episode, it looks like he won’t spend the night in a fantasy sweet with her unless he meets her dad first. Chivalry is great and all but this is a dating reality show. This just in Jesse: The rest of the boys are putting out.

Next we went to Dallas to ride motorcycles with Jeremy. He was still stiff and surprisingly reserved. A multiple choice for you:

The most awkward part of Jeremy’s hometown date was:
a. When his brother’s gave DeAnna the fifth degree
b. When he read the journal entry he wrote the day before his mother’s death
c. When all anyone could talk about over dinner was dead parents
d. All of the above Read More »

And Then There Were 4: Episode 5 Of The Bachelorette

40.jpg

If you tuned in to The Bachelorette last night, you were met with a whole lot of nothing. The first hour of tonight’s two-hour broadcast was affectionately dubbed, “DeAnna Tells All.” The lady of the hour sat down with Chris Harrison to dish on the contestants and how the game’s going so far. We also checked in with Trista and Ryan, America’s favorite Bachelorette couple. Trista weighed in on her favorites (Graham and Jason) and provided some not-so-shocking insights into the challenge of being a contestant on the show. What? You mean it’s hard dating 25 guys at once? Wow? Who knew?

Once the chat session was over, the actual episode began. DeAnna took all six guys on a trip to Palm Springs resort. Sean got some alone time but spent most of the time talking in cliches and over-selling himself. Jesse, Jason, Graham and Twilley went ATV riding with DeAnna. Twilley finally got some alone time on the helicopter ride over to the desert. Too bad he suffers from terrible motion sickness and came pretty close to hurling all over her. The boys messed around in the sand and then cooled off and talked up DeAnna by the pool. The long group date didn’t reveal any front-runners but Jesse almost looked attractive. Read More »

You Suck, Katherine Heigl

katherine_heigl300b.jpgLast week the release of the Emmy nominations brought some serious drama from the set of Grey’s Anatomy. As everyone who turns on the tv (or visits this site) already knows, Katherine Heigl said something very, very stupid. Something along the lines of, “I am a really great actress and I deserve an Emmy, but the lazy writers on my show didn’t really give me much to work with, so I decided to bow out to make people believe I am a kindhearted actress.”

Woops?

Naturally, this caused quite a commotion in the media and over at ABC where, apparently, Heigl has been stirring the pot. It seems that Kat has been demanding more money per episode and attempting to get out of her contract. ABC seems to be worried about losing her; she is one of the most well-known actors on the show — thanks to her recent box office hits – and losing her could mean losing some serious advertising moolah.

I know that I don’t know much about producing a TV show, but I do know a ton about watching one, so I feel that my opinion matters. So, I have one thing to say:

See ya later, Heigl. Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on your way out. Read More »

My WTF Moments From Episode 4 Of “The Bachelorette”

44.jpg

Last night’s episode was pretty telling. Fred, Robert and Brian were sent packing and no one was surprised. Today, I’m handing out roses for the best WTF moments of the night.

The Rose for using grave digging as a positive and negative experience - Sean
In regards to writing and performing a song for DeAnna he said “I’d rather be digging my own grave than what I’m about to do right now.” Later, after winning the stock car racing challenge he said, “Bury me now. Dig my grave, because I’m a happy man.”

The rose for the worst shirt to wear during a dating show - Brian
It probably wasn’t even a good idea to pack your Home Wrecker shirt dude. It is not shocking you were sent home tonight. Read More »

“First Impressions Are Everything” The Bachelorette Season Premiere

bachelorette.jpgThe Bachelorette returned last night with a two-hour premiere.

Our bachleorette is 26-year-old Real-estate agent, and (as host Chris Harrison reminds us) America’s sweetheart DeAnna Pappas. After she was left heartbroken by former Season 11 Bachelor Brad Womack, Deanna is optimistic about finding her true love among a mansion full of suitors.

Tonight the Bachelorette had the difficult but enviable task of getting to know 25 attractive men. The guys had different strategies and some proved more successful than others in winning this Southern Belle’s heart. Some did their homework, others tried seducing DeAnna with their chiseled physiques and spiky hair, some did outlandish things (really Paul? Jumping in a chilly pool?) while others were shy and quiet, so quiet they were introduced and we never heard from them again.

After some soul searching and pensive gazes into the camera, DeAnna emerged with her final 15 suitors. Here are my standouts.

Richard: He gave her a Herkimer diamond, and he seems sincere. Plus he’s a teacher, so I’m hoping he’ll keep it classy and not get into too much drama with the other contestants since his students will inevitably be tuning in.

Graham: DeAnna said his looks are just her type, plus they were both bartenders. What’s pushing Graham over the top? He is starting a non-profit organization. Swoon! Read More »
