The Infamous \"Number\"

Once upon a time, I cared a whole lot about my
number of sexual partners. I remember hearing a
girl in high school tell me she had slept with 5 people,
5 whole people, and I remember thinking, ‘WHOA!!!
What a slut! I’m never going to have sex with that
many people! Ever!” But, you see, that was when I
was religious and very into the idea of marriage…and
the idea of waiting for the ‘right one’.

Go International: New Line at Target is Grandma Fabulous

chai1.jpgI love Target. I get all my work clothes from there, plus all the generic little add-ons to my play clothes. I mean, is there anyone out there who isn’t obsessed with this store? So, when I took my weekly shopping trip there this weekend, I was totally stoked to see the newest addition to the Go International line!

I skipped through the aisles. I danced to the dressing room. I filled my cart with every last piece of the line from Richard Chai. His collection features clothes that range from business casual to Plain Jane casual. Chai’s fun yet subtle use of color runs throughout the line, while he still maintains a more sophisticated air than you would expect from a line at Target.

But, while this line has many good things to offer (the colors are fun without being over the top, most of the looks classic), it just fell short for me. (I know, I was surprised too!) A lot of the clothes felt a little too old and the cuts of the shirts made me feel shapeless. It also seriously lacked a fun and flirty side that previous Go collections flaunted. The summer line, for example, was all about, “Look at me! I’m flirty and sophisticated! Wouldn’t this outfit look great with a margarita?” Read More »

Go, Go, Go and Grab up the Latest GO International Designer from Target

roganfortarget.jpgIn its continuous quest to provide us average folk with fashionable duds for those ever-so-reasonable Tarjay prices, Target has teamed up with American designer Rogan Gregory to produce its eleventh GO International, limited edition collection. Rogan Gregory has created three lines since 2001, Rogan, Loomstate and EDUN, and in November 2007, Rogan was the recipient of the prestigious CDFA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award.

The collection itself has a beach safari feel with bold zebra and leopard prints, pops of bright colors, and an earthtone palette all set upon relaxed silhouettes and spring/summer wardrobe staples like loose tanks, wrap dresses, shorts, skirts and hoodies.

Another bonus to Rogan’s collection is that, like his other collections, Rogan for Target is eco-friendly and socially conscious; all the pieces are made of 100% certified organic cotton, linen, bamboo and hemp, so not only will you be lookin’ adorable for these upcoming hot months, but you’ll be givin’ love to the environment as well (like we need more excuses to go shopping). Jovovich Hawk is Coming to Target!

0478570392687_astl_300×400.jpgGood news, Ladies.

The new GO International line for Target is so close I can taste it! Well, not actually taste it. That would be weird. You would walk into your neighborhood Target store and find me sitting in the clothing department licking all the clothes. Sort of like that crazy Project Runway designer who was spit marking her designs. Ew.

But back to my point.

The line will be in stores and online this Sunday, March 2nd! [Editor’s Note: Damn you, leap year; we could have had a whole closet full of clothing one day earlier if it weren’t for you!] The new designer has been sorta top secret for months, but Target has finally officially let the cat out of the bag.

Jovovich Hawk.

I know I say this every time a new line launches at Target, but I am super excited for this one. Jovovich Hawk’s designs are extremely feminine and flattering, without looking like you are trying too hard. I have been eyeing their stuff through windows for a long time, but have never had the $500 it costs to purchase one of their awesome dresses. And now I don’t need it! Read More »

Erin Fetherston Next to Invade Target’s Go Int’l.

erin fetherstonBig news!!!

Good old Target has done it again. Another hot designer is gracing the GO International line with her talent (not to mention, concern for us budget-stricken college girls): Erin Fetherston. Thanks to Glamour editor Ashley Baker at Glamour.com, the word is out.

As the announcement is extremely recent, samples of the designs have not yet leaked their way to the public.

Based on the young designers previous collections, the pieces for Go International may bear resemblance to Fetherston’s couture designs — oh la la.

Her signature style consists of dreamy dresses in silky/rich materials with a very feminine flare.

Compared to the tackiness of the Libertine collection that Lauren highlighted , it looks like Fetherston’s girly touch may be exactly what Target needs to redeem themselves.

I cannot wait to pound down those red doors, once her line hits the racks.

Libertine for Target is Totally FUGLY

lib1.giflib2.giflib3.giflib4.gif

For designers whose line has been hailed by the likes of Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel fame, I expected more. Instead, the new sneak peak of the Libertine for Target line left my eyes bleeding and a little bit of throw-up in my mouth. The psychedelic patterns reminded me too much of Austin Powers and the prep-meets-punk look they were going for ended up looking more like the wardrobe of a Nantucket mother with a bit of misplaced rage.

Sadly, there are only a few pieces I don’t despise. The striped shirt dress is cute as is the tree screen printed tee. For the most part, it really seems like the only few things the Libertine duo got right were the basics: a black skirt, a black dress, a white blouse. And for designers whose “uniquely aggressive aesthetic” (read: fashion forward look) was what set them apart for the rest, this gag-worthy clothing collection neither says unique—or aggressive—to me.

What do you think about the new Libertine for Target collection?

Target’s Got a New GO! International Designer

pat-robinson-target.jpg

For some reason I get unusually excited about new GO! International lines at Target — I mean that place is a freakin’ god-send.

So when designer discounted clothes hit the racks, I’m there, day one, ready to shove other girls and grab my size in absolutely everything. It doesn’t matter how hideous a tank top or pairs of shorts is, I’m trying it on! (So watch out, bitches). Hey, it made sound totally insane, but I know I’m not the only one. All that matters is I always leave good old Target with a smile on my face and really cute, cheap purchases. Read More »
