K. Clarkson is putting her foot in her mouth and going back into the studio.

After a lot of drama, which included low sales of My December, talking shit about Clive Davis, and firing her manager, KC seems to have lost all her rebel steam.

First, she publicly apologizes to Davis, pretending she never said contemptuous things about him. And now, it’s reported that she’s going into the studio to record a new, more “pop friendly” album that will be out in 2008.

As much as I want to see my girl succeed, I can’t help but wish she had stuck to her guns a little more. Kelly, I’m sure Clive Davis is an old asshole. So, he knows a thing or two about pop hits, but he can still be a creatively stifling, money hungry CEO.

You’ve heard me say it a thousand times. I love K. Clarkson because she seems like a normal human who’s really talented.

Because of my sisterly devotion to KC, I take issue with the newest Star Magazine cover, which features my girl as one of the “Stars Losing the Battle of the Bulge”.

Hmmm. When they say bulge, do they mean a stomach that isn’t sunken? Do they mean a ribcage that isn’t protruding through clothes? Do they mean a waist fitting into a size 8 dress?

Perezhilton featured the cover on his site, and his readers were uncharacteristically on Kelly’s side. It seems I’m not the only one who wants the press to chill out when it comes to the weight of celebrities. Maybe we really are starting to realize perfection doesn’t exist.

For the longest time, I stayed away from the weight room at my gym.

Not because I’m a weakling who can hardly lift 50 pounds (I mean…I really don’t have any muscles…but that’s not the reason), but because the weight room is traditionally a breeding ground for testosterone. A box full of dudes grunting and veins popping and machines clanking. A place where a tiny redhead listening to Kelly Clarkson on her iPod kinda sticks out.

Even though I wanted to do more than cardio, I was resigned to the fact that I would never visit such a room. That was until a friend of mine changed me forever.

Oh, K. Clarkson! What is going on with you?

It’s just been reported that Kelly Clarkson has cancelled her summer tour! Apparently, K.C and her gang want time to “re-evaluate her show’s size and scope”—which really means ticket sales were slumping and it was either play to half-capacity crowds or cancel the whole thing.

“The day when [Kelly] will play in sold-out arenas is, no doubt, coming, but for now her fans should look forward to seeing her in a more intimate concert environment.” Says Gregg Perloff, CEO of Another Planet Entertainment, in a press release that went out today. “Kelly deserves a tremendous amount of praise for her courage in not only being a part of, but in supporting, this difficult decision.”

As someone who’s seen K. Clarkson in concert (the tickets were free, and I genuinely like the girl…or think I do…based on a relationship that consists of me reading articles about her), I have to say that she puts on a great show, and actually sounds just as good live as she does prerecorded. I held my breath through the results and I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!!!! Melinda goes home! We should take cell phones away from teenage girls EVERYWHERE cause it’s obviously their fault that we have one more week of that bad clothes wearing (again last night, again—what is that?), beat-boxing yuck. I’m pissed. Can you tell?

I mean, I said it—I worried that Ms. Doolittle didn’t appeal to the mass audience—she’s just in a whole different ball game then everyone else up there. But it’s so obvious that she is amazing. Maybe lacking a personality. But a phenomenal singer. I’m pissed. Onto the rest of the show…

Ok, sure. I imagine running into one of the American Idols on the street might be kinda cool. I don’t know that I would recognize many of them, but I could pick a few out of a crowd. But who are these people that they showed in the clips last night? There were people weeping, and screaming, and freaking out over people who—as Idol legacy has proven—might not be that huge of stars. Kelly, and Carrie have done fine for themselves. Okay, okay, so Kelly Clarkson’s new single is nothing like we had hoped it would be, especially in light of how awesome the singles off her last album proved.

I couldn’t find one guy, straight or otherwise, who wasn’t obsessed with Since U Been Gone. (i.e, this)

People in Kelly’s camp are not taking this situation lightly, as poor Kelly is being slammed for not going with her previous team of producers and songwriters for her album, My December, with a release date that has been held off until July 24th as a result of all the disagreements. Instead, Kelly opted to take a more original, authentic route by penning the majority of the songs herself.

So far, her noble efforts havn’t worked so well. Clarkson’s label hates her stuff so much, that they went so far as to pawn Lindsay Lohan songs from her last album, on to Kelly, as if no one would notice the same song on both CD’s!

According to People, Kelly broke it down for MTV in a juicy and lengthy confession:

“My label literally sent me a Lindsay Lohan track from her last album and wanted me to record it for my new album…and while I like Lindsay Lohan, like I’m cool with her and I think she sings the song well … it’s already been on an album. I don’t care what pop star it is.” Read More »
