Hot Profs: Fair Game?

young-romance.jpgCollege is so liberating. We don’t need to ask for hall passes to use the bathroom. We don’t necessarily have to explain absences. We can leave super-crowded lectures early because the professor won’t even notice. Hell, some of us can even go to bars with our professors!

The student-teacher relationship gets completely morphed once college hits. Lecturers can be more laid back– the “hip” teachers wear jeans to class and drop curse words to express their points. In many cases, students and teachers can work closely, whether it be during office hours or on a collaborative research project. But, when it comes to student-teacher relationships, how close is too close?

Most of the “hot” teachers in college are probably shrouded in urban legends revolving around steamy love affairs in class. The profs who really connect with the students and relate to us on our level are targets for schoolgirl crushes. And once in a while, a professor comes along who takes full advantage of that. There are obvious taboos regarding student-teacher interaction in high school, thanks to some of the pedophilic educators who have made headlines over the past ten years, but in college, there are many shades of gray.

First of all, college students are of legal age to give consent. And the age gap is much smaller, especially when you throw TA’s into the picture, some of whom may still even be undergrads themselves. Still, can a romance between a professor and a student really blossom in college? Here are some factors to consider: Read More »

Debbie Does…Retirement?: 73-Year-Old Porn Star Rulz the Screen in Japan

shigeo-tokuda.jpgYou gotta love Japanese culture. They always find a way to surprise you with their little quirks and pleasantries.

I mean, in America, the stereotypical retiree will move down to Florida to spend their time lounging by the pool in a gated community or playing a few holes on the golf course. Lame. In Japan, adult films for senior citizens, aka “elderly porn” is growing into quite the profitable franchise, according to porn producing giant Ruby Productions.

While America’s economy is declining, many entertainment venues (including golf courses) are taking a hit. In Japan, at least one retiree is cashing in on the entertainment biz. Shigeo Tokuda, 73, is the Ron Jeremy of elderly porn.

CNN correspondent Kyung Lah describes Tokuda as “the star of his movies in every way, romancing his co-stars, no matter their age, no matter their needs.” And apparently, his films are no-holds-barred, much like anything Jenna Jameson has appeared in. Read More »

“I’m Not Wearing Underwear” — Reading A Stranger’s Texts

24804511.jpg

This morning, as I do every weekday morning, I hopped on the bus and made my way downtown for work. It’s a crappy way to get around but it saves time avoiding traffic and keeps me from paying tons in parking. Whatever. Anyway, I usually have a few things to do to keep me entertained on the ride, however on this unfortunate day, my ipod died the second I walked out of my apartment, and I finished my book at the bus stop waiting for my bus. Damn.

So, after a few minutes of staring off into space and a few minutes of rummaging through my purse I notice the woman sitting in front of me was in the midst of a serious texting-fest. So, I peaked over her shoulder and took up reading.

HORRIBLE IDEA! The conversation went a little something like this (and keep in mind I actually cleaned this up a little.)

Lady in front of me: Sorry about last night
Reply: Don’t worry, I like when you pull my hair…
(Me: what the hell?) Read More »
