She is known for her teeny frame, perfect pout, oversized sunglasses and some of the hottest arm-candy on the planet: David Beckham. Victoria Beckham, AKA Posh Spice, is definitely a style icon of our era. Her style causes a stir everywhere she goes and women around the world try to mimic her look, from her towering heels to her ultra-short hems. Even her ever-changing hairstyle makes front page news, leading women to rush to their hairstylists to get the latest “Posh.”

Her style varies often and Posh does everything from putting her own touch on classic styles to wearing innovative pieces that other people wouldn’t dare to try off the runway. She breaks fashion rules (like matchy-matchy accessories), sets new trends, and even has her own denim line (DVB: Denim by Victoria Beckham). Whether strutting her stuff in mini skirts and Christian Louboutins or jeans, military jackets, and boots, Victoria looks nothing short of fierce and she’s certainly an inspiration to all fashionistas out there. Dita Von Teese is famous for her infinitely sexy burlesque act (I actually saw her perform at a small party a few years back, and let me say, it is quite spectacular), and for having been married to freakish Marilyn Manson. Lately, however, she has been getting a new sort of notoriety: for her fabulous style.

Dita stands on her own as the Diva of Retro. She pulls off this look with vintage-inspired clothing, dramatic coloring and her signature pin-up hair and ruby red lips. She is a dream for many couture designers such as Marchesa, Vivienne Westwood, Roland Mouret and Christian Dior/John Galliano, as their gowns perfectly hug her amazing and almost unbelievable hourglass figure. She accentuates the beauty of her classic looks by adding fun and flirty accessories like sky-high heels and funky hats.

Reese Witherspoon is known for her Girl Next Door appeal and her fresh-faced good looks. She’s also known for a cool, casual style that gives her a relaxed feel, while still looking totally fantastic. We are always seeing her running around L.A. with her kids (and her delicious beau, Jake Gyllenhall) in jeans and flowy tops, but no matter how busy-mom she is, she still always looks adorable.

The magic of Reese is that even though her style is so laid-back, when she hits the red carpet - Presto! - she turns into a gorgeous, glamorous goddess. She is known for picking classically elegant and vintage-inspired gowns and venturing into less common color palettes. And it all works; Reese is consistently placed on the best dressed list after awards shows.

Blake Lively put herself on the radar with her debut in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, but it was her starring role in Gossip Girl that ushered her into stardom and really put her on the map. It’s hard not to notice her gorgeous blonde locks, those perfect legs that go for miles and her stunning smile, but on top of those physical features, Blake’s got a timeless and perfect style. Blake Lively has the ability to do something many of us hope we can pull off: look phenomenal not only when all dolled up, but also when doing her daily business in jeans and sweaters. She’s a huge fan of Chanel and oftentimes seems to embody the old glamour that Coco Chanel created.

Part of Lively’s flawless style is her ability to accentuate her assets perfectly. She shows off her gorgeous gams with skinny jeans that accentuate all the right details, and she is a master at coming up with the perfect outfit - from clothes, to shoes, to bags and accessories. Gwen Stefani has long been associated with fashion; whether rocking her unique personal style, or showing her latest L.A.M.B line, Gwen knows what it means to be stylish. She’s never been afraid to take risks, and they almost always pay off. Her love of wild and bright prints, lots of color and, of course, her signature platinum hair and red lips, set Gwen apart from the rest of Hollywood’s fashionistas.

Gwen Stefani has never fit into the mold of “what’s hot now”; she created it. Despite the fact that she goes for bold choices, she carries them with an air that makes it all look effortless, owning the look instead of letting it own her.

[For this week’s Style Idol I decided to look past the celebrities of Hollywood and focus on someone else making waves in the fashion world. She doesn’t get paid to look good, but she is scrutinized every. single. day. And despite the fact that she isn’t a singer or big movie star, this woman’s wardrobe is inspiring women’s wardrobes nationwide. Including mine.]

We’re just 8 days away from what will be one of the most historic elections in history, and definitely the most historic in our lifetime. So in the spirit of the impending election my Style Idol of the week is the woman who could very well be our first lady come January: Michelle Obama.

Being touted as the Jackie O of our generation, Michelle combines classic elegance and grace with modern touches, like chunky turquoise necklaces and studded belts. She goes for simple ensembles that aren’t over-accesorized, and she appeals to women across America by wearing clothes that are affordable for the average female. Michelle has the ability to mix it up, still look flawless, and resinspire the American woman’s love for a string of pearls and a tailored suit.

My style idol this week is none other than Ms. Halle Berry, whom I think is one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood. You gotta admire the fact that she is 40 years old and a new mom, yet still manages to look phenomenal while playing at the park with her baby, or posing for photogs on the red carpet.

Berry’s got a classic style that puts emphasis on her sex symbol status (and really shows off those amazing…er… assets of hers) without looking trashy or “40 year old who’s trying to relive her 20’s.” With that gorgeous skin tone and megawatt smile, she can wear a variety of colors, which she is adept at. Her shapely legs and perfect cleavage only give her more room to experiment with different cuts and shapes, and her body always looks smokin’, whether making a political statement in jeans and a tee, donning a floor length gown while preggers, or rockin’ a mini dress.

There’s no doubt in my mind that Halle’s been one of Hollywood’s best dressed for years now, and it’s no wonder why: she’s the woman other women want to be, and the one that every guy wants to have on his arm. And on top of it all, she makes it all look so effortless. Read More »

My style idol this week is someone who has recently come into her own and proven to the world that you can come out of a (very) bad break-up stronger and more beautiful than ever before: Anne Hathaway.

Ever since her life seemed to be falling apart early this summer when her ex was accused of fraud and tax evasion, Anne has been kicking some major booty. Not only is she getting rave reviews and Oscar buzz for her role in Rachel Getting Married, she’s doin’ it all while looking gorgeous and glam.

Let’s be honest; Anne hasn’t always been totally up on style or considered a fashion icon. Lately, however, she’s been seen everywhere sporting well thought-out ensembles that are trendy yet unique, classy, and do a phenomenal job of highlighting her long & lean frame.

She’s often seen in darling and feminine dresses, is a big fan of belts, and, when on the red carpet, she’s fantastic at throwing back to old Hollywood glamour with gorgeous gowns by designers like Marchesa and Dior.
