Google AdWords is something entirely different from Google Adsense. I too had my credit stolen, and used for an AdWord campaign. I e-mailed google, called my bank, got a charge-back done, and Google authorised the charge-back, and closed the fraudulent account. After that I got myself a student credit card, which makes charge backs easier, and use that for shopping, pretty much everything, and only use my debit card when at an ATM to withdraw money.
